Hi there!!

Hi, my name is Cindy, and I am 21 Years old.
I am a graduating senior in the class of 08'. I am so excited but at the same time so scared.
I currently work as a Teacher Assistant at Los Angeles High School. I must confess that I love my work, and that it's rewarding to know that I can help others. I have already been offered the possition at my work place, and yes, I am excited. I cannot stop thinking about whether or not i will be a good teacher. I want to become a teacher because it is a rewarding career. I want to be able to say that i did something productive with my life....once i am in my death bed, OFCOURSE!...(hahahaha). Also, I had the opportunity to realize that teaching is a calling, and not a career, and that whoever is in for the vacation time or the money is not going to be a good teacher! i want to be a teacher that can inspire someone to want to learn more. I also want students to like me for what i can teach them, and not for the grade that i can give them. I believe a teacher needs to be secure of himself, know his stuff, and be "cool" with the students, without ever forgetting the border line between a teacher and a student.
I believe that technology needs to play a big role in a classroom. The children are computer wizards; they use computers at home while listening to music, and watching TV. A classroom without technology will bore students to death, and that will create a chaotic teaching/learning environment. I think that technology should be included in the lesson plan so that students feel comfortable, but I dont believe it should be used 100% of the time.
